What charging apps work at an IONNA Rechargery?

Nearly every Rechargery offers both CCS and NACS connectors, so you can charge without an adapter whichever port your BMW uses.

No, there is no limit. You can charge as often as you like and still receive the 25% discount from BMW when you use the My BMW app or Plug & Charge during your 12-month term.

Yes. At times IONNA may offer holiday pricing promotions. In this case, your BMW discount is applied to the IONNA promotional pricing and your eligible credits will apply.

No. You must start the session with the My BMW app or Plug & Charge to use credits or receive the discount. Credit card and third-party app sessions are charged at standard pricing.

Your benefits run 12 months from the date you bought or leased the vehicle, not from the date the program launched, so you may have less than 12 months remaining.

Your expiry date is shown in the My BMW app wallet.

Yes. Each eligible vehicle earns its own $500 in credits, and your 25% IONNA discount extends to 12 months from the newest vehicle’s purchase or lease date.

The BMW discounts do not stack.

As a BMW model year 2027 new vehicle driver, you will receive the 25% BMW discount for each session during your 12-month term. After your 12-month term is over, you will receive the 10% BMW discount.

However, when IONNA is offering holiday pricing promotions to all drivers, your BMW discount is applied to the IONNA promotional pricing and your eligible credits will apply.

Your 25% discount ends and you automatically receive the standard BMW driver discount of 10% at IONNA Rechargeries.

Any remaining IONNA Credit and BMW ChargingNetwork Credit expire at the end of the 12 months.

You keep receiving 25% off every eligible IONNA session until 12 months after your vehicle purchase or lease date. Sessions are charged to the payment method on file in your My BMW app.

The charging details in your charging history in the My BMW app shows the amount of credits applied to that session and the total cost for the session.

After you unplug, the IONNA charger Cost Detail screen shows base price, discount amount, taxes and fees, and final cost regardless of whether credits were used.

When you look at the pricing on IONNA chargers in the My BMW app, your BMW discount is already calculated into the price per kWh (before applicable taxes).

After you unplug at the end of your charging session, press the Cost Detail button on the charger to view the amount your session was discounted.

The Final Cost shown on the charger screen and in your My BMW app is the amount deducted from your credits or charged to your payment method; your discount and any applicable taxes have already been applied.

Your credit balance is shown in the My BMW app under Charging, in your BMW ChargingNetwork charging account, and in the Shell Recharge screens reached from there through Manage Account.

IONNA chargers do not show your credit balance.

Yes. At IONNA, your 25% discount is taken off the session price first, and your credits cover what is left. A charging session priced at $20 uses only $15 of your credits. Use all $500 of your charging credits at IONNA and they pay for more than $665 of charging.

Open Charging in the My BMW app, then open Charging Wallet and select BMW ChargingNetwork.

Review and accept the BMW terms.

Continue to the Shell Recharge webpage, review the Shell Recharge terms, and add your payment card.

Review the MY2027 charging offer and enroll in the BMW membership at IONNA.

Your account status and charging-credit balances are then available in the My BMW app.

If your vehicle supports Plug & Charge, select the Shell Recharge contract in the vehicle before using Plug & Charge.

At launch, eligible vehicles are new model year 2027 BMW i5, i7 and iX3 battery-electric vehicles bought or leased by a consumer customer.

To receive the package you must activate BMW ChargingNetwork in the My BMW app, accept the terms and required consent, and add a valid payment method.

The offer can only be activated once per vehicle.

Eligible customers who purchase or lease a new model year 2027 BMW battery-electric vehicle receive $500 in charging credits and a complimentary one-year BMW membership at IONNA providing 25% off eligible charging at IONNA.

The credits are divided into a $200 IONNA Credit for eligible IONNA sessions and a $300 BMW ChargingNetwork Credit for eligible participating BMW ChargingNetwork stations, including IONNA.

Tesla Supercharger and Electrify America sessions are excluded from the credits.

The benefit expires one year after the eligible vehicle purchase or lease date.

Eligible vehicles retailed before the November 5, 2026 launch may therefore have less than 12 months remaining when the package is activated.

You’ll never see pricing above $0.39 / kWh plus tax. Some locations may be lower during off peak hours. You can always see the current price per kWh for any Rechargery on its individual location page before you charge. There are no session fees, subscriptions or memberships, and drivers of select automaker brands can save with our current offers. Check our Pricing page for details.

No membership, subscription or app needed! Anyone can charge at IONNA and simply pay for the energy used. There are special offers for drivers of IONNA founding automaker vehicles as well, check our Pricing page for more details.

80% for speed, 100% for range.

If you're short on time, around 80% is usually the sweet spot. Charging slows as the battery fills, so that last 20% can take as long as the first 80%.

Charge to 100% when you actually need the range, and when you're not in a hurry.

It depends on your EV. Most EVs charge from about 20% to 80% in 20 to 40 minutes at an IONNA Rechargery, depending on the car, its battery size, the temperature and how much charge it starts with. IONNA chargers deliver up to 400 kW, so your EV can charge as fast as it is able to.

No app needed! You can pay right at the charger with a credit card (tap, swipe, or insert), Apple Pay or Google Pay, or use Plug & Charge. If you would like to use an app, plenty are supported. See What charging apps work at an IONNA Rechargery? for the list.

Plug & Charge lets your EV start and pay for a charging session automatically. Just plug in and walk away! You set it up once in your automaker’s app. See Will Plug & Charge work at IONNA Rechargeries? for the EVs that support it at IONNA.

It’s easy. At an IONNA Rechargery:

1. Park at an available charging bay.
2. Plug in the NACS or CCS connector that fits your EV.
3. Start your session with Plug & Charge, a credit card (tap, swipe or insert), Apple Pay, Google Pay or a supported app.
4. When you’re done after your session, just unplug and get back on the road.

You don't need an app, subscription, nor a membership. Pull into an available stall, grab the NACS or CCS connector that fits your car, and start with a card, your phone, a charging app, or let Plug & Charge start automatically.

The dispenser screen shows your charging and cost details as you go. When your session is complete, unplug and hang the connector back up and be on your way.

1. Confirm you have an active Remote Connect subscription by tapping on “Info” on the vehicle home page of the Toyota or Lexus app then tapping Subscriptions.

2. For Plug & Charge, ensure that your electric vehicle is a model year 2026 or newer.

3. If these steps do not work, contact Toyota support at 1-800-331-4331 or Lexus support at 1-800-255-3987.

Navigate to the Charge Info section of the app and select Charging Networks.

Scroll down to Payment Method and tap on Wallet to update the payment in your EV Wallet.

The final cost is shown on the charger screen after you unplug and in your Toyota or Lexus app Charge History.

You pay the standard posted price in the Toyota or Lexus app and at the Rechargery, charged to the payment method on your Toyota or Lexus account EV Wallet.

There is no extra fee on the charging session for using Plug & Charge.

Check that your Remote Connect subscription is active, that Plug & Charge is turned on in your Toyota or Lexus app and vehicle, and that your payment method is current.

If so, unplug and wait a few seconds, and then plug in again (adapter into the cord first, if you use one).

If the session still does not start, start it from the Toyota or Lexus app or tap a credit card at the charger.

If the issue continues, contact Toyota support at 1-800-331-4331 or Lexus support at 1-800-255-3987.

Yes. Plug the adapter into the charge cord first, then plug it into your EV. If you plug the adapter into the vehicle first and then attach the charge cord, charging may not work.

All Toyota and Lexus electric vehicles can use In-App Charging with an active Remote Connect subscription.

Model year 2026 and newer Toyota and Lexus electric vehicles support Plug and Charge with an active Remote Connect subscription.

Confirm your Toyota or Lexus electric vehicle is model year 2026 or newer.

Then confirm Remote Connect service is enabled for your vehicle and you have a valid payment method in your Toyota or Lexus app EV wallet.

Navigate to the Charge Info section of the app and select Charging Networks.

Tap Enroll.

Under In-Network Partners, tap Plug & Charge and then Confirm. Turn on your vehicle and wait for this step to complete.

Plug & Charge lets your vehicle identify itself to the charger and start a session automatically when you plug in, with no card tap and no app interaction at the charger.

Payment is automatically charged to the payment method on your Toyota account after you unplug.

Nearly every IONNA Rechargery has both CCS & NACS connectors.

We also support the use of adapters purchased from or provided by your dealer.

Use the Toyota or Lexus app (requires an active Remote Connect subscription) or your vehicle navigation system (requires an active Drive Connect subscription) to find IONNA Rechargery locations to charge your Toyota or Lexus electric vehicle.

Some networks charge by the minute after charging finishes. IONNA does not charge idle fees or session fees, so you only pay for the energy you use.

Every IONNA location has Genuine IONNA Charging Dispensers in a safe, well-lit charging bay. The four types differ by what surrounds them.

Rechargery. Our full stop. Canopy coverage, restrooms, food and drink, and a drivers lounge, all on site.

Rechargery @. Hosted at a partner site, with restrooms, food and drink, and a lounge provided by the host.

Rechargery Relay. Charging bays with restrooms, food and drink nearby rather than on site.

Rechargery Beacon. Our flagship, providing all the amentities that you expect and deserve.

Yes! IONNA Rechargeries are open 24/7, so you can charge whenever you need to. Hours for restrooms and food may vary, so check your local Rechargery for details.

Put it on the map yourself. If there's no Station Hand near you, sign up and become one. We bring the juice, you bring the crew.

Only the ones with an event going on. The 20¢/kWh rate (plus tax) is a perk for showing up where a Station Hand is hosting.

Come on over, the more the merrier! Two familiar faces are better than one, and a bigger crew just makes for an even better event.

2. Check that your vehicle and app are on the latest software version.
Visit your preferred app store to ensure you are on the latest version of the MyHyundai app.
To find the most up-to-date vehicle software version, visit https://update.hyundai.com/US/EN/home.

To find the software version currently on your vehicle, follow these steps:
• On the infotainment screen, navigate to Setup, then General
• On the left side tab you will see “SW Info/Update”
• Find “Software Version”

There are two main ways to find IONNA charging stations in the MyHundai app.

From the Home tab:
• Open the app and click on “Home” at the bottom
• Click on “Find a charging station”
•. If you see “Search by address, city or zip” in the search bar, type “IONNA” and the city or zip and the chargers will be displayed
• If you see “Navigate” in the search bar, type “IONNA” and the city or zip, then click the lightning bolt on the right side of the map
• You may need to type “IONNA” and the city or zip again to see IONNA charging stations

From the Map tab:
• Open the app and click on “Map” at the bottom
• You will see “Navigate” in the search bar
•. Click the lightning bolt below the search bar that says “Chargers”
• In the search bar type “IONNA” and the city or zip to see IONNA charging stations

MB. CHARGE Public is backed by your ChargePoint® account, whether you created one at registration or paired an existing one. Without a valid payment, you will not be able to charge at stations in our network. Your account must have valid payment information to start charging sessions through MB.CHARGE Public.

1. Open the Mercedes-Benz app and scroll down to select “Manage contract”

2. Select “MB.CHARGE Public charging contract,” which will open a link to the ChargePoint® account in your browser.

3. Log in to your account

4. Once logged in, open the menu in the upper lefthand corner.

5. Select “Payments.”

6. Select "Edit" to review and update your payment source.

7. Finish by saving your new payment information.

Click on “Activate MB.CHARGE Public” and follow the steps to activate your account and add a payment method to start a charging session and receive the discount.

Yes, all BMW and MINI drivers who initiate charging with Plug & Charge or the My BMW App will receive 10% off charging sessions. 

You can find your discounted price/kWh within the My BMW app before your begin your session as well as in the session summary.

IONNA is seamlessly integrated into the BMW Charging Network ecosystem. This means through both the vehicle navigation system and My BMW app, customers can view all the information they need regarding IONNA Rechargeries, including location, live availability, reviews, and nearby amenities. After setting up an account in the My BMW app, drivers can also use Plug & Charge at IONNA Rechargeries. Plug & Charge enables drivers to simply plug in and walk away, no apps or interaction with the charger is needed.

BMW EVs from Model Year 2024 on can use the Plug & Charge function at IONNA. This means that no interaction with a credit card, the app or the charger Is required. Just plug In and walk away. To get set up, create an account with Shell Recharge within the My BMW app. Once completed, a Plug & Charge contract certificate will be automatically downloaded to the vehicle.

You can start a charging session through the Chargepoint App. ChargePoint's "Tap to Charge" and the ChargePoint Card (RFID card) do not currently work at IONNA stations.

 You can route to your closest IONNA station in BMW, Ford, General Motors, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes, Porsche, Rivian, Stellantis and Toyota EVs.

Yes, IONNA Rechargery locations love to charge Teslas and have NACS charging bays. However, Tesla models before 2021 may require an upgrade to be able to charge. Check compatibility and find IONNA in your Tesla navigation.

Yes. Every driver is welcome at IONNA Rechargeries, whatever you drive and whoever built it. Most dispensers have NACS and CCS connectors, so most EVs plug right in.
